Topographial maps

Maps with shape of the land surface or topography illustration are called topographical maps. You can see hills, mountains, valley, various lakes, sea, streams and various other features as well as man made landmarks. Shape and elevation surface features are marked by contour lines. Contour lines are lines drawn on a map that connect locations with equal elevation. This means that if you would follow contour lines your elevation (altitude) will not change. However when you’ll move away from contour lines your elevation will change. Contour lines are useful to show the shape of terrain and the strength of elevation.
